Most Cookware Sets run from 1 lb to less than 2 lbs. However, if you are cooking only for yourself you can get a 1 quart or 2 quart pot that weighs under a 1/2 lb. The 3 most popular types of material on cookware is aluminum (The most popular and cheapest but not necessarily the best), stainless steel and Titanium.
